Pictures don't slow a workstation down. It could be a hardware issue.. Or it could be the number of background software running.. If i be you i would do a complete system format and see if that is the problem..
If you own a lot of photos on your laptop, it can slow it down tremendously. Try clearing some of the unnecessary things by positive it to another media.
If you are using anti virus softwares similar to Norton, it will seriously slow down your system, switch to trend micro. Also get PC doctor and scan your system, it is much better than using
