Also, check out the Dell Battery Return program once you have the mobile out. It might be possible to get a free battery-operated from them. Your Inspiron E1505 may have an effect battery.

on the underside of the laptop will be a thumbpush button, possibly with a battery-operated symbol next to it. Just slide the take in for questioning and let the mobile gently drop itself out, any from the base or from the side.
your problem could be due to a motherboard quirk, but check the battery first.
