Is it possible to put a Nvidia 8500Gt w/512mb vram surrounded by it

Answer:
Heh. We have like peas in a pod laptop, how 'bout that?

Yes, indeed you can. However, if you aren't familiar next to performing such modifications, I suggest that you send it to a professional, or simply dispatch it back to Alienware. I deliberate that they should switch them out for a reasonable excise.
With laptops you could never upgrade the graphics card. Most of the graphics is already put into the motherboard. All you can possibly upgrade on your laptop to put in more memory and adjustment in rock-hard drive if you want more hard drive space.
Most laptops own the graphics chip integrated into the motherboard and cannot be upgraded. Your best bet would be to contact the manufacturer's customer support and ask them this same question. They will consent to you know if the graphics module is removable or is soldered into the motherboard.
Most likely you're stuck beside your current graphics card.
