4 GB of push for MacBook Pro?

All x86 notebooks own this problem. Apple is the only one that comes verbs on it. When an x86-based system looks above 3GB the next 500-700MB appears as the video card's onboard memory and other map locations. Basically if you install 4GB into ANY system you will end up next to 3.5-3.3GB usable. Apple just tries to stop you from blowing money while the others will with pleasure sell you 2x2GB chips for a sky elevated price and only mention within the fine print that not all of it is usable.
The chipset supports 2x2GB fine. There is no physical, bus, or electrical restriction. It is old x86 specifications that be written when everyone ran 32-128MB strike and 3GB was not even possible. I own personally pulled a 2GB chip out of an Alienware and paired it beside one in a MBP. I get 3.42GB ram. In the Alienware I get 3.38GB usable.
Mac OS X is a 64-bit OS. That is why the MacPro can run 32GB. The main drive Apple shipped Mac OS X originally was to support over 4GB. The old-fashioned G5's were base on PPC not x86, so they never had this problem.
Yes, or it may be a buss problem. Overloading RAM surrounded by some cases has slowed a computer down. There is an optimum amount for the apps you use.
If Apple say it can't be done it can't be done. The Motherboard can not handle have that much memory. I know a laptop of mine can only support 1.5Gb and it have two slots, I would love to bump it up to 2Gb, but I can't. Sorry!
the operating system limits it also ... nobody wishes that much ram for anything and u wont gain a item by it , in reality more ram is slower unless u entail it ...
Put 4GB in, it basically wouldn't use 1GB of it - I think it would recognise the chip.
Apparently it simply does not work. If you hold a 1GB module and 2GB module, try swapping the TWO to see if the 2GB module works in the other slot.
It adjectives has to do beside SPECIFICATIONS. Without that, we'd all be buying crap that won't work, and we can't use.

Something to do beside 32 bit OS's cant support over 3 - 3.5 GB of RAM. I dont know what bit or anything about mac's so im a moment ago assuming.
