start deleting programs that you dont use. Do that within the control panel under add/remove programs. Dont purely dump the short cuts cause that wont free up adequate space. Also go through your documents folders. dump any music, pictures, and especially video you dont want any more. If you have any games installed you dont play, delte those too. That could be ALOT of space idle there
buy a fresh harddrive.
I am not fimiliar with sims 2 but if it is a window application and needs more memory, increase your virtual memory. Virtual memory extends your authentic memory by using disk drive space. It is slow but if you have a big thorny drive and a small amount of memory, that's the way to stir. With the speed of today's drives, it may even speed everything up! Good luck.
