Why will my memory not budge?

I own an Advent 7061M laptop bought from PC World years ago (I did beg my dad NOT to travel to friggin PC World!) and I want to upgrade its memory, but I'm unable to move the memory surrounded by it to see how many slots it have (as I'd ideally like to take 1GB and keep the crappy 256MB that it already has). My argument: PC World don't want people to upgrade their computers! Anyone know why the memory won't slide out near a gentle push close to it should?

Answer:
underneath will be sml clip/screw that may only be accessable by taking the integral motherboard out(TRICKY).

take it to a independent local comp shop that will run laptops and let them sort it out.

if really p***edoff turn for it but be gentle and remember be it all fit,s bac after, especially h/s,devotee,h/d.(good luck)
Sorry, can't help - but gratitude for the pts.
laptops are unbeleavably hard to upgrade, thats why they arent as popular as desktops, but still the memory should merely slide out, try sliding it out the other way, or I don`t know just for a moment bit harder
just bring back plyers and rip it out.
Not really
There may be clips on the sides that you have to flip up or down to allow movement. This is irregular but possible.
is there tab on the memory that you need to push out? otherwise whip it to a private computer repair shop and let them look at it.
