Is 1.66 GHZ appropriate for a laptop?

It's Sony Dual Core 1.66 Ghz. I will be fundamentally be using it for school applications such as: powerpoint, excel and word. I will also enjoy songs and pictures but not too many.

It have 1GB Ram and a 80 Hard Drive. Let me know. I just want to know if it make a big difference the whole Dual Core 1.66 Ghz and if it's flawless enough. Thank you.

Answer:
It's pretty wearing clothes the only point I'd recommend switching up to a dual core processored laptop is if you did a bunch of multitasking and required the processing power the dual core enables you to enjoy. My laptop and desktop both have dual core processors but I'm other running office apps, internet explorer, iTunes, dvd encoding, and programing at any given time.
dual core is the best today. and 1gb system memory is a virtuous size 1.66 ghz is a good speed. sounds angelic to me
and u go smaller number then dual core and it will be pass¨¦ within years.
its newly fine. my Fujitsu 6410N w/ dual 1.66 1GB DDR2-667 160GB plays quake4 and doom 3 flawlessly. you juse need a wearing clothes video card. mine has a radeon x1400, but near the x1600 out you should go for that, it have nearly double the 3DMark score! o.0
