Answer:
Apple Macintosh have been the gold ingots standard for movie and picture editing ever since hi-res cartoon movies approaching Toy Story started appearing.
The iLife software that comes with the Mac is worlds better than anything that comes bundled beside a Windows computer.
Depends on what you are looking for. For price, service, and reliability I like the Dell laptops.
Toshiba, IBM, HP, and MACs are adjectives also good.
a gateway xp medium library ......
I am more inclined that a MAC does editing, desktop publishing much better than a PC does. Check the apple mac website.

Well one piece don't get Dell. I would suggest going to Best Buy or some place approaching that and ask an employee in the order of the options you enjoy for a laptop of the kind you are asking for. Yeah approaching I said earlier go and get anything except Compact and Dell. They are not a efficient.

Its all up to you on what you want and where on earth your budget lies but thats what I would look for.
Here's the deal beside laptops. They only end three years at best. Most devices are treated poorly and parts inside are hard to replace because they adjectives have to be from the factory owner. That said, get a three year replace parts type warranty. You will have need of a big hard drive and greatly of RAM for your laptop. Dell and HP are good choices. Or - get hold of an Apple, but don't tell any of my intel friends I said that...
You should procure a Toshiba laptop.
