Laptop for college student?
Answer:
I bought a very nice laptop from Dell for my daughter. I go to the dell website, chose/designed the laptop that I thought would be best for her to use both in academy and in her free time, after searched through the Dell Outlet and found one that pretty much matched what I be looking for. I got one that be listed as have cosmetic flaws. What I would have remunerated almost $1,500 for, I got for below $900. My daughter said it did have a slight score, but she absolutely loves it.
ebay.

dell.. or toshiba
Browse the the Fourth Estate for deals. Dell are pretty reliable, but unless you intend to use it as a multimedia central part, cd's dvd's mp3 etc. you won't be needing an adjectives power ful machine. I've a moment ago finished my degree on a piece of equipment tht's now 6 years aged, it did everything I wanted. So hold your grant money for other things.
I wouldn't trust ebay.not for laptops.
Newegg.com have some good prices:

It genus of depends on what you will need it for. Toshibas are fitting, but the satellite p105 has a development to have fruitless system boards. ( I am a certified comptuer tech - 10+ years)
Waht is your price range? and what would you approaching to do with it? The big item to look for is the ram and strong drive size. The ram, because you may be wrting some hugely long papers, adn the hard drive size, incase you want to put music on it (you are within college after all hehe).
The Mac Book Pro is great if you are within journalism or interested in making movies or anything of the sort. It is also perfect for music, projects, watching movies and such. Everyone I know that has one is ecstatic, it is expensive though.
I have an HP Pavilion, it be medium price and suites me fine for conservatory work and anything else.
Gateway makes some nice puters...

What ever you bring to a close up choosing spend the extra few dollars for the accidental pull insurance.cause."Chit Happens"!
Well you didn't explain "inexpensive". My daughter owns a MacBook, but in my evaluation those are "expensive". It's a cool laptop if you can afford it.
I own a Dell, a Compaq and a Toshiba. I would go for Toshiba first because those are more durable. Also, if you plan on carrying the laptop around later get a 14" eyeshade or smaller. Although the 15" screen laptops are the cheapest they're reasonably bulky. Go to Circuit City, Best Buy, Fry's or wherever and look at one. A devout website to see laptop reviews would be www.newegg.com. Trust me, if you want to carry the article you have to bring 14" or smaller.
Walmart has an Acer 14" laptop for around $500, I believe. A coworker bought one and it seemed clad. In my opinion though Toshiba make the sturdiest laptops until you start getting into the business class (like IBM).
this site will give you a sony vaio laptop a moment ago for completing some quick online tasks! really recommend it, especially if you're broke but really want/need a laptop (like me).
I would recommend getting an HP laptop. They are great computers.
