My computer won't turn on anymore :(?

I hold a Toshiba laptop that I've had for 2 years or so. A month ago, I be on it doing a paper when adjectives of a sudden, colored horizontal lines appeared on my computer. It froze so I re-started it. IT worked, but a few minutes later, same point. Now, when I try to turn on my laptop, the light indicating that it is indeed turned on lights up, but the eyeshade stays black.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix it? I don't want to waste money on getting someone to fix it, so if I can do it on my own, that would be great. Any support or suggestions are welcome. Thanks <33

Answer:
if it is still turning on but you cant see the eyeshade, the lcd back neutral may have gone out, to check if the computer is working still, see if you hold an old monitor around, most laptops enjoy a connection on the put a bet on for a second monitor, if not, pinch ur laptop to a friends house with a monitor and see whats going on.

if nil comes on the second monitor, then you may call for to buy a new laptop. even if something does come on the blind and you can use it that way, screen are expensive and its not usually worth repairing, use the monitor to transfer your facts to another machine surrounded by the interm.
mabey your battery finally died?
buy a topical one
i would take it to best buy to be repaired...i have the same problem near my computer and it just needed a exotic monitor.good luck!!
It seem like the backlight of the LCD peak died or the power inverter for the backlight. Unless you are good beside a soldering iron, I would recommend that you take it to a technician.
Do you own an external monitor you can try? Shut down the laptop, connect the external monitor, then restart. If nil appears, see if there's a key to toggle between the LCD and external monitor (it might be labeled CRT/LCD). If you can capture it working with an external monitor, you'll know if everything else is working and it's a monitor problem. If so, it may be as simple as a loose nouns, or you may need a clean display.
If you have a tower computer beside a separate monitor too, try hooking that monitor up to the laptop and see if it works. It sounds like it's your laptop display that's broken. Hopefully it's lower than warranty, otherwise look into the cost of repair or replacement. Or, you could just use it near a separate monitor, losing the convenience of the laptop.
Your hard crashed. Buy a topical one and install it.
Here are a few opptions:
1. buy new one
2. bear it to be fixed
3. charge it
4. you might have have a virus on your laptop so take it to be fixed
5. check the warrenty they usualy hold a warrenty over like two years so whip it back to the manufacture
Seen something similar happen on my son's Toshiba laptop & it turned out the power cord have a short in it. Took it into the shop and it tested out fine. He call & had me bring contained by the power cord. He tested it and saw it had a short within it. I replaced the cord & it works fine.

Might not be your answer but it sure is a similar problem. Goog Luck!
