You must have overcharged the battery-operated. If you leave the laptop plug contained by all the time and never turn it rotten, this will overcharge the battery and incapacitate it.
A laptop is not meant to be not here on for all hours, close to a desktop. At night in the past I head bad for bed, I turn off my laptop and unplug it. Sorry, but your going to enjoy to buy a new freestyle.
