Please oblige me!! I entail your design for a computer problem!?
I have a Dell Latitude Notebook nearly 5 years old. The Backspace knob has popped sour because the little white tab that attaches the key to the upright has worn ample that it won't fit back the hole.
Anyway, I own taken it to about three computer repair guys who charged me 10-20 bucks to report to me they couldn't fix it after 60 seconds.
I phoned Dell, and they will not deal in me the peice, as they do not make replacement parts for keyboards, even laptops!
What proposal do any of you have for me? Is in attendance anyone with a unresponsive Latitude notebook that would pop off the button? What else could be done? I am going crazy!!!

not sure if they hold dell stuff, but if they do they could sell you the upright.
Dell as most companies wouldn't sell in recent times one ley for a keyboard, they would vend the entire keyboard.
Most leading computer manufactures, won't agree to anyone fix their laptops except their won techs.
Changing the keyboard can be simple or somewhat unyielding depending on the laptop.
I think you should look for the exact division number and then look for it on ebay. I enjoy found keyboards before on ebay. Then you can lately repair the entire keyboard.
The simply thing I can contemplate of is to replace the keyboard. I'm pretty sure the undamaged thing can be taken out and replaced next to a new one.
The notebook, will no longer be within production, so they will be unable to trade you a key, unsophisticatedly, the same happen to me with my older dell which i had for more or less 4 years, i just put a small spot of super cement and it works fine
Here is the Dell eBay list. biddable luck. Just plug in your model number to the look into box.
YOU CAN ALWAYS GET A SEPARATE KEYBOARD TO ATTACH THROUGH THE USB PORT. THAT'S THE GENERAL DECISION IF YOU CAN'T FIND ANYONE THAT HAS A LAPTOP LIKE YOURS AND DOESN'T USE IT. ALL THOSE SITES FOR BUY/SELL THINGS(NOT ONLY EBAY) ARE USUALLY FULL OF PEOPLE SELLING OLD LAPTOPS FOR 10-20-30 BUCKS, ESPECIALLY MORE THAN 5 YEARS OLD.
MY LAPTOP IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD, BUT I CAN'T FIND A BATTERY FOR IT(EVEN HP TOLD ME THEY DON'T SELL THAT "OLD" BATTERIES) IT'S CRAZY!! NOW I USE IT ONLY AT HOME, PLUGGED IN THE AC.
Dell will not sell you a single switch. No computer company will. However, if you look on the Dell web site lower than Support, you will find the service manual for your model. Follow the instructions for removing the baby grand. (Usually five screws (marked next to a "K" on the bottom of the laptop. On the bottom of the keyboard will be a element number.
Contact Dell and they should be able to market you the entire keyboard. I purchase them regularly. Should be contained by the $30-50 dollar range (depending on the model). If Dell will not trade you one, do a Google search for the chunk. It should not be hard to find one.
There is one connector you unplug, plug contained by the new baby grand, and replace the screws. Done.
