I hold a COMPAQ Presario B 1990 laptop. Its Wi-Fi IP is auotomatically changed. How to repair it?

Now i am not competent to connect to the default Wi-Fi router. What to do?

Answer:
I would answer this, but I would entail a little more information. On speculation, if you be set up DHCP then your computer would automatically reconfigure itself, so that lead me to believe that your set on static IP, which doesnt make sense any, because unless your router was set to assign you a specific address, that would still distribute you the correct address. So we (the answers community) need to know, what features of configuration is on the laptop (static or dynamic) and is the router set up with the DHCP server enabled, plus how you be configured before you lost the connectivity.

Its firm to answer these questions specifically in need some specifics to go by. Sorry
For shifting ip ( if you know the correct ip ) you should go to start->settings->see connection later right click on your wireless connection -> peroperties -> later in the roll double click on "internet protocol (TCP/IP)" then set "use the following ip address" after enter your ip address for example
IP: 192.168.1.34
Subnet : 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
This IP was example you should enter your correct ip address. next close windows by ok . Done ;)
