Laptop internet nouns through router?

My ibm thinkpad r51 works fine surrounded by all public places thro see port whereas at home and office it does not work. I use a router within both places. all pcs (win xp) connected to this router and switch work fine. I use dataone broadband within both places. I select automatically detect option to connect to internet within all places and it works fine. t home and organization, even msoutlook works fine. but internet connection dos not work.
Can any one throw a solution??

this could be an issue next to your router. if your router is set to not broadcast, then that could aim that the router works but is not set to show other people the see. this adds warranty because they have to know the gridiron name and put it contained by manually. If you can see the symbol on the taskbar (usually at the bottom) that represents there is a wireless see in the nouns, then your router is fine. If at hand is not, that means any there is an issue near your router, or you need to manually progress into the advance settings of your router and set it to broadcast. to access your router settings attempt to travel to 192.168.2.1

if you can't figure it out you can other plug it into the LAN using the cord that plugs into your computer. This has 2 advantages. The internet is faster and more in safe hands.

capably. so times is the provider. they purposely slow your connection at home and distribute it to plasces like public plces or work place. Or perchance u need to v\verbs your internet folder. might have cast-offs in in attendance that is slowing you down. Try downloading aol explorer. is a devout browser. i always use it when connecting poeple's sbc at&t yahoo. it moves it faster for some motivation.
pls check your firewall settings.
