Does anyone own an Apple Mac laptop, if so how would you rate it as an average home user?

For the hardware chunk, 10 out of 10 points. I had a 13" one and I'm moderately satisfied near the battery (arround 6 hours) and smaller number than a 1Kg. as far as for the operating system, it's easy to use, NO virus or system failures so far (have it since one year). U have need of to search utilities on apple pattern site for the ability to use for ex documents that are not "designed" for a mac os system but you will find plenty of them (for ex the apps who can read .doc, or .xls files).
If you intend to "play' on it... than you entail to "work" a little bit more and to install "emulators" for games designed for other platforms... So far is the best laptop that I have.

Benefits: Ease of use and reliability
Negatives: Doesn't run Windows software - which isn't usually an issue unless you want a computer as a games machine.

The best operating system you would enjoy on a lap- top, very little virus, because the virus writers home into Windows because Windows are so fallible, Apple dont crash,and ultimate forever, the new Apple operating system will be so far ahead of Vista, compare a vehicle ( apple) to a push bike ( pc), take your pick, walk for Apple .
I have apple mac laptop and a workstation , the mac is brilliant , never crashes, no viruses, jammy to use , reliable, can't say like peas in a pod about the laptop !
The mac is a great machine especailly for grafic design ect. I used them when I be at college but found although excellent when you are used to a PC they can be really confusing. I decided to stick to the notebook and over the years they are starting to catch up on specs and speed ect
