What should I do or not do? the couple of times I've tried to play a dvd movie on my lap-top it skips & jerk
Answers:
it could possibly be because of the following reasons:
1. There is something wrong beside your DVD Drive
2. Your processor is slow
3. You do not have satisfactory RAM
4. You do not have a virtuous enough graphics card
How to fix
1. You could buy a trial DVD drive made specificly for laptops, I would suggest if you're not tech savvy to get someone to install it for you.
2. If you enjoy a processor that is slower than 1Ghz afterwards I would just suggest to buy a alien computer, but if you have a processor greater than 1Ghz consequently your processor is not the problem.
3. If you have smaller quantity than 512MB RAM in your computer I would suggest upgrading, or if you hold any programs running in the perspective to exit out of them to make sure that the medium player that your using will be able to own enough RAM to run.
4. I'm not sure how bleak a graphics card has to be to not be capable of run a DVD, but since you bought it not too long ago, it should be able to hold a good adequate graphics card to run it.
the disk may be scratched, the cdrom drive in the notebook may be dirty, try dusting it, or if you are moveing the computer alot while its playing that may be it
hope this help

If it is still under warranty ring Dell...In the meantime get this.
Copy the movie onto the HDD and play it from their.
Or remove background running programs that rob up ram.
There's a great difference when your playing movies on your laptop to some extent than our DVD player unit. Its moral if your DVD CD is exotic and has no scratch. this plays well, this mark DVD CD try to play this on a DVD player section it still stops but the movies keeps on playing. See to it also if your using a DVD writer section or a DVD player on your PC. A writer is always a writer a Player play even automatically when you inserted your DVD rom. There are two types of DVD element one that has with the sole purpose on and off. The other have a switch on play button this writer has a worthy feature on playing your CD's.
Based on experience I have note down this errors on playing to PC element. God Bless.
