Laptop processors.. CONFUSED!?

Im hoping to buy a modern laptop in the subsequent month but im confused on which processor is best for my needs.
i want to use my laptop for gaming, music and chatting. but also for college work. i also want one near windows Vista Home Premium.
So.. could someone please help out me by telling me which processor would be best for me?
* i've hear that Celeron and Sempron are rubbish processors.

Answers:
Celeron and Sempron have fixed performance when it comes to games and graphical modeling programs.
These processors are most suited to businesses who's primary use of a computer is for e-mail and bureau applications.

Also, you don't need a high-end processor for music and chatting. The best processors for optimum mobile show are currently Intel Centrino and AMD Turion64.
AMD is also coming up with its own "Griffin" processor for mobile computing.

When it comes to gaming you will want a system that give optimal performance. You will also want to look for a laptop next to a high-end graphics card - preferably NVidia.
And where here is NVidia there are soaring performing processors like Intel Core and Core Duo. (The with the sole purpose downside is the costs)

I'd recommend you look into the Acer brand and Fujitsu-Siemens for your shopping.
how much are you willing too spend
you can be in motion to sites to build your own computer
try the
Core 2 Extreme processor with NVIDIA 8800 GTS 768mbs it will fulfull adjectives your needs
but try going to alienware.com
thry hold laptops for all kind of uses and you can choose what operating system you want on it and you said you wanted window vista.
P.S. windows vista is waste i would not recomend it
stay with Windows Xp adjectives vista is is an upgraded XP with for a while more new features.
Intel Core 2 Duo is the most recent from Intel. Intel Core Duo is the first generation Duo, the Core 2 Duo is the second equals. There is a quad core on the way too.

I don't even suggest they make Celeron anymore?

I wouldn't buy any AMD base machine myself.
The processor of choice would be an Intel Core2Duo. It offer a high stratum of performance which would be perfect for gaming and video playback. They offer accurate battery duration too. The older series (CoreDuo) is moral too and are a little cheaper.

The best price/performance processor would be a T5600, or if you can find one beside T7100. They are both dual cores running at around 1.8GHz.

For gaming you should look for a laptop that offers discrete video - a Graphic Processing Unit (GPU). Most laptops are designed for word processing, email and net browsing type of tasks; and are not good for gaming. Laptops next to a discrete GPU tend to be more expensive. Another advantage is that a GPU is used for video decode and would make video playback much smoother than on one that have integrated video.
Don't go to Alienware unless you approaching wasting an extra $1,000 for a pretty case. I get an HP machine only just with the NVidia 8800 GTS and a Core2 2.0 ghz w/ 2GB RAM not long for around $2,500. It was so worth it, but even the lower finale models are nice.
You should get an Intel Centrino processor.
