What is this green standard lamp on my Samsung laptop for?

On my Samsung laptop within are two green lights. Both used to be lit whether the laptop was switched on or bad. The right hand feathery (which is below a symbol which resembles a blazing sun) is only lit when the contraption is switched on. This change happen about six months ago.

On my Samsung V25, one is to enunciate the power is on (green) the orange to right to be heard it is charging. However the charging light in a minute flickers sporadically as the probes in the AC port are dodgy as next to most V25s.

one to indicate - power is on
one to indicate - computer is processing something/busy
