What do I want to hook my laptop up to my TV?
Answer:
If you pocket a minute to look on the back of your PC you will see several different ports or connectors. There are vitally three connectors to look for when hooking your PC to your TV. These are RCA Composite, SVIDEO, and VGA.The newer your computer is, the better chance that it comes next to either a RCA Composite or SVIDEO nouns. Some notebook computers also have video outputs on them. When buying a fresh computer always look for the words "TV out" or "video out" contained by the computer description.
If you only own a VGA connector and don't have an HDTV consequently your best choice is to buy a newer video card with an S-Video connector. There are other third participant solutions out there but the power is very poor and we do not recommend it.
The VGA port is the connector that's connected to your PC monitor (the TV approaching device that came near your computer). This connector is usually only usable for VGA Monitors or HDTV setups. If you own an HDTV this will give you the best carving possible.
If you have an RCA Composite connector on the subsidise of your computer, then you can use that. You may also stipulation to power down your computer and reboot to be able to seize the signal. You need an RCA Composite cable that will be long plenty to reach from your computer to your PC. Connect the cable to the posterior of the computer to the back of your TV SET.
S-Video is superior to that of RCA Composite and will grant you a clearer picture. If you have a relatively new TV you should hold this connector in the stern. You will need to buy an S-VIDEO cable, which you can buy in recent times about anywhere you buy home video products. Connect the cable to your S-Video on the rear of your computer and then connect it on the pay for of your TV
first you need a vid card that have a tv out of some type. this can be coaxial,dvi,svideo or even hdmi. but you need a honest vid card. if you are using a lcd i would suggest finding a vid card with a polite bit of memory as well simply lead to you get better resolution.
or you can in fact buy a stand alone system that plug into the vga port of your laptop and then into the screen(not as clear though)
and if you want to run wireless you can even get a setup to convey the picture from your bedroom to your tv or vice versa.
i have a radeon 9800 myself plugged into a 50" plazma using dvi cable and running a hd signal of true 1080i.
yup it kicks ***.
Thje best instrument to connect a laptop to a television is to use the s-video port on your laptop to connect to the s-video conection on your tv.
Many newer video card enjoy S-Video and HDTV output jacks.
If you have a standard TV use S-Video
If you hold a HDTV use the HDTV connector.
========================
Most video cards have a S-video output that can be connected to the tv S-Video input.
The picture on the screen have a relationship with your resolution settings. Although adjectives S-Video outputs use a fixed low resolution to maintain compatibility next to your TV, it scales according to what the resolution of your computer is set to. Adjust your resolution in the settings tab of your display properties. Use a screening no higher than 800 x 600 beside 16-bit color. A setting of 640 x 480 will be much easier to see, but icons and window will appear very hulking.
