My standby way out have disappeared, please minister to, i really have need of it!!?

i have just gotten my laptop to run great again, and my brother happen to just push he on/off button, he didn't even hold it down and it turned sour, when i turned it back on it the standby leeway had disappeared, and in a minute when it scrolls down really slow
what can i do?

I THINK THAT UR GRAPHICS CARD IS DISABLED

THAT IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY STANDBY CAN BE DISABLED

CHECK THE DISK FOR CONSISTENCY (SCANDISK) AND POSSIBLE ERRORS OF LOST FILE FRAGMENTS (VIA MY COMPUTER> DISK PROPERTIES> TOOLS>THEN CHECK NOW AND).

DEFRAGMENT THE VOLUMES.

IF THE PROBLEMS ARE IN LOADING THE DRIVERS RELOAD IT.

ON THE DESKTOPS MY COMPUTER CLICK PROPERTIES THEN SEE DEVICE MANAGER AND SEE THE VIDEO CONTROLLER WHETHER IT IS OK OR NOT.

IF IT IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY RUN TO THE SERVICE CENTRE IF U R COVERED UNDER WARRANTY
turn to control panel >display > screensaver > power>hybernate

What brand of laptop and what OS are you using?
go to control panel,click power option,click power schemes,
see below
scroll 'system standby' pub,select 'after 1 min'/.1 hour/2 hour.
click apply .(currently you are selected system stand by-'never'.)

Also try doing this first...
Goto Control Panel > Power Options. On the APM tab label sure "Enable Advanced Power Management Support" is checked.
Or
Reinstall the chipset drivers and/or video drivers then reboot.
