Mac. Not individual is Mac OSX faster than windows, but macs not often get virus or have problems beside their systems. Even thought they're a little more expensive, they're very well worth it. Plus if you decide, you can run both window and osx on it at the same time

Dell laptops start at only $499, so I would travel with them. The hold tons of features, too. I am using one of their $499 laptops right now!
Dell. Not solely do I think that they are great PC's, but it will be more flexible for you. Some school are requiring students to submit work electronically. PC's are more common on campus and, thus, are more likely to engineer file submission work for you.
very well if you are going to school you should probaly attain a mac. mac are more for kids and teens. dell is more for people next to buisnesses and stuff
Hey my avatar looks like yours! Anywho, Dell computers are more compatible next to university systems, but Macs are way more fun. I took a research methods/ stats class this semester and it be helpful that I have a Microsoft computer because it had excell, but I regard that the people next to Macs only have to download excell so it was no big concord.
Buy a Mac, they are more fun!

well i get a gateway a year ago. while its not a dell or a mac its a great computer i dont think you should focus one the brand as much as the price and the features. my laptop be only $400 at bestbuy on mart. look around and check the newspapers for sale also check around online or check out some of the company sites to see what you like!

Since Dell make horrible quality computers, you should bring back a Mac.
If you have the budget, I would suggest a MacBook. If you save an eye on the refurbished models at apple.com, you can get a massively nice, very portable, and drastically powerful laptop for under $1000. It comes next to OS X, which is great for too many reason to list here, and it can run Windows too, should the have need of ever arise.
If your budget does not allow for a new Mac, nearby are used models around, and you could possibly find a very dutiful deal on one.
