How do i manually remove a worm from my laptop?

i'm running vista on my laptop and i own a worm that opens a solid program on it's own. i need to know how to remove this worm.

Down load a program call "Process Explorer"

Process explorer will show all process running on your PC and it will show you the first name of the file and the locations and reg enteries so you can manually remove them.

OR
Download Ad-Aware 2007 and SpyBot Search and verbs and let them remove it.
