A command rank is a command with pick or switches e.g.
Fo instance if you go to a DOS prompt and type:
dir /a:h
it will display adjectives the hidden folders within the current location.
When Windows runs a command it too runs commands beside switches. Presumably a command was sent by the operating system next to an invalid switch?

yeah i get them disks from packard bell for my old XP computer fund in 2002 4 times and respectively time they didn't work when i tried them. so i can't see them working from a download off them any. best thing build your own computer within future and take your own copy windows XP/ Vista to put on it consequently when you do get a problem you don't hold the messing around with it and don't acquire all the trail software and malware you inherit next to prebuilt computers from places like notebook world and the like.
I must say aloud though your download problem might be a prob with Vista as it aint anywhere fundamental a good Operating System as however like XP wasn't for the first 3 yrs it be out.
Download them from someone else computer, then burn them to disc's, you should after be able to use them.
that's grotesque. my other laptop is a packard bell easynote r4 and that seriously crashed too on wednesday. i too am waiting for the recovery discs from packard bell. i did enjoy a master boot disk created but it failed halfay through the seizure and left it up the creak surrounded by dos mode. weird. conceivably packard bell sent out a virus through the internet to make our notebook crash so we have to phone up and wages the lb38 for the recovery discs. they aint making any money as relatives know they are rubbish now so they hold to make money that method. lol
