the fact is that this hobby should not be lagging on your laptop at adjectives and you should be able to set adjectives setting at highest next to no problem on getting any lag.
My laptop's specification is lower than yours and i can play even much bigger and tougher games in need getting lag.
What i can estimate of is that a big a part of your cpu or hit or even both, gets eat up by some softwares which are installed on your computer, everytime you turn your laptop on.
Go to Start--> Control Panel --> software and get rid of some big softwares you really do not have need of them
Also go to Start --> Programs --> Auto start and brand name sure that not many stuff are surrounded by there. If near are, get rid of most of them.
( do not forget to restart your laptop after doing any of the above things to permit it take affect )

It is probably not supported in Vista. Go to the EA Sports website contained by the source I have included and contact their suppot staff.
More push would probably make things better, since 512 and Vista are not a greatly desirable combination. Also the Go 6150 is a low end card that's not amazingly powerful; I don't think NFSMW req are too glorious but that card might be pushing it as well.
Vista Ultimate on 512MB? Get at lowest possible 1GB. For games, go for 2GB. Vista in reality requires 1GB just to run properly. There are also services running such as the modern indexing engine for the desktop search. And also the widgets uses abundantly of RAM.
