Answers:
Bury a few within the ground and send summary to people adjectives over the worlds saying dont unstop the box found (insert addy and location here) until 2000 years. hopefully one of the notes out here will last that long..

to answer your cross-question, no
??
prepressed cdroms? most likely if they be stored correctly, and the plastic hadn't gotten too brittle.

burned cd's? not a chance.
As long as they be kept out of the light

aluminum disc tech uses anodization of the aluminum (shiny)

CD's left surrounded by strong light or sunlight would eventually become
unreadable
recordable disc... no. I have have properly stored writeable cds that failed contained by as little as 6 months.
Mass produced cd will last longer, but I doubt they would finishing 2000 years.
