Compaq M2000. Vertical stripe on laptop's eyeshade?

I hold a compaq presario notebook M2000. Just as i was generate a preview of a video on filecroc< a p2p client >, a vertical stripe appeared. Its about 5cm cavernous and runs all the route vertically. Its not opaque though, but the color within the stripe is faded to white and it makes it an eye sore to type documents, surf and spectacle movies etc. Any idea what might own caused it? i own restarted the laptop a couple of times, but in no vain... the strip is still here. Changing the resolution did not work any. Any idea what i could do?

Answer:
Sounds resembling damaged or dying Graphics Processor Unit or your cable running from the graphics card to the blind has be damaged. I dog-eared one of my video cards GPUs by improperly installing a river cooling block to it. I ended up beside about 12 vertical pale lines afterward and had to replace it, in that was no other course. The only means of access you probably will get it fixed is to dance to a certified repair shop or get facilitate via customer/tech support from compaq. I hope your machine is still underneath warranty.

best regards
Smack the peak. If problem persists, bring it in to a local PC repair shop, because i.e. a hardware error. My friend had alike thing ensue on a Dell but his stripe was black XD
Well seem they are not dead pixels... help yourself to it to a repair shop (HP/COMPAQ Service Centers)... you can not do anything by yourself.
