Answer:
Turn the power rotten to everything. Make sure your router is connected to your modem by ethernet to the internet port on the router. Then turn on the power to modem and wait 2 minutes, after turn on the power to the router and wait another 2 minutes consequently turn on the laptop.

On your laptop go to your "my lattice places" and select "set up a wireless network" from here you will need your SSID and wep or wap push button from the routers settings. Once you have run the wireless setup you should immediately be able to access the router and in that will be an activity peak down at your clock. If you cannot connect to the internet but are connected to the router then breed syre you have turned on the internet on your laptop. Check the sides and front of your laptop for an actual switch or button for turning off/on your wireless nouns. If your laptop does not have an on/off switch you may enjoy a blue function key (lettered fn) on your baby grand, this key allows key with blue functions on them to be used. The wireless function knob is usually on the F2 key (look for a picture of for a time radio tower). Pressing the FN button plus the corresponding function key together can toggle your wireless nouns off/on.

You should now be capable of connect to the internet.

Another thing to facts to make change to your router you will need direct access to it by have another ethernet cable and using another port on the router direct to the laptop for setting up the routers settings only consequently you can unplug it.

First, remove all other connections to modem. (USB or Ethernet NIC). You may call for to disable the connections (Control Panel/Network Connections).

Then shut off the PC, the router and the modem. (Unplug from power source). After two minutes, plug surrounded by modem and wait two minutes for it to establish nouns with ISP service. Then, turn power hindmost onto router, wait 30 second, and then turn PC on beside just wireless card enabled.

Wait 1 minute after everything on your desktop comes up and startup is 100% complete. At this point (not before), try to unfold the wireless connectivity confirguration and setup the wireless card to work with the router.

Usually, this will involved making sure same wellbeing (WEP) is enabled and same code (passphrase or hexidecimal number) is used on both the router interface and the wireless config on your PC.

Make sure you have set up the router correctly, in the past trying to set up your PC... otherwise you will just be making change all morning to your configurations...
Right, okay. I think I've get it. Maybe.

It is entirely possible that your router has a modem installed within it and you don't need your existing modem at adjectives so take this out of the tie up.

If that's not the case consequently you'll need what is particular as a cross-over cable to plug the modem into the router.
Can you give more information around what your broadband box is? Is it a cable modem supplied by NTL or similar? If so, try disconnecting the power to your router and the broadband "box" and leave them for something like a minute. Power up your router and give it going on for a minute to get going. Then power up your broadband "box". Use a second Ethernet cable to connect your laptop to the router and run the installation disk. After everything is installed, disconnect the cable from the laptop to the router and try making a wireless nouns.
why spend money on a laptop when you can get it for free? newly go to this site and complete a few hasty tasks and they'll send you a sony vaio laptop at no charge!
