Should I replace my Intel mobile 2.0Ghz laptop for a Intel Core 2 duo one?

I own a Compaq Evo N610C laptop with an Intel pentium 4Mobile 2.0GHz @ 717MHz, and be wondering if the new laptops beside Intel Core Duo or Intel Core 2 Duo were any faster? I generaly expurgate photos and video as well as the other run of the mill stuff! Thanks :-)

Answer:
You should replace them..the Core Duo ones is faster then the frail ones by almost 60% if u compare it to a 2.0ghz core duo....
Yes you would pick up CPU speed with the modern one but maxing out the RAM in your elderly one may do you more good and be cheaper. You didn't really endow with us enough info on your system to cause a really definitive suggestion.
If you want it to go faster you should exspecially if your into gaming , but if you are really into gaming youd enjoy a desktop ,but ya duel core processors are the shizzy . fast efficient fast
The Core2Duo series are much much faster than what you hold now.

If you do serious video editing (as I) later you will surely benefit from the increase in operation.
Depending on which model you choose, it will cut down the processing time to as low as 15% of the time it takes your preset part to render a video file.
