Low-profile graphics card for use beside laptop or desktop?
Answer:
Actually, low-profile graphics cards aren't compatible with laptops, since laptops own the video chipset built-in to the motherboard. There are some laptops that offer a few different graphics option, but those can only be changed at the factory by the businesswoman, before man shipped to stores.
Low profile cards can only be used surrounded by low-profile desktops, the ones which are "pizza-box" or "slimline" style, like some IBM Netvista or Thinkcentre unit. Compaq and Dell make some as okay. As you've discovered, they don't fit into the slots on regular minitower or tower computers.
