My laptop won't start up the power wishy-washy is on but won't swith on wots wrong?

stipulation more info. is there a blinking cursor?. if the eyeshade black. if the light is on the system is on. however in that is something not performing right. What do you mean wont switc on? do you plan boot up?
Do you mean the power-on button doesn't do any item? You are pressing it rather than drumming it, aren't you?
Need more information. What brand and model of laptop is it? Certain brands/models have problems beside failing onboard power switches and will only power up when surrounded by a docking station. More details please.
