I want to know what things, or conditions, can weaken a motherboard.?

Let's see: bad cooling, impossible power supply, maybe something be loose in the satchel and shorted two parts of the board.
Or the board isn't so great and wore out.
electrical surges. static. excessive dust over long time. water desecrate, etc.
it might not be fried when you get a trial borad YOU MUST MAKE SURE THOSE STAND-OFF/GOLDSTANDS PINS ARE LINED UP or it will short the board but once you find which pin iss not lined up remove it replace the board and it shall work
Power surges/spikes, fit a surge arrester
Liquid, dont put your coke on the computer or permit your cat sleep on it
Faulty processor, if the processor fails it will normally take the mobo beside it, make sure the lover is good
Lightening strike to 'phone or power dash, fit surge arrester
Water, fire, lightening and stupidity.
I have found that an eight pound sledgehammer does a fine post of it.
