Toshiba A105-s2101 nouns stopped,why?

no mixer device to run application error come up when i tried to play a sound. i take a beep approaching a confirmation beep but no other sounds. what is up?

First, own you tried something like playing a music compact disc on it? This will determine whether your speakers are OK. Second-Is your volume turned up, both the external volume control and the Windows volume? Try Start/ Settings/ Control Panel/ Sounds and Audio and check Windows volume level. Third point to do is find the driver for your Laptop. I *think* that this is a link to it-your apparatus has a Realtek 861 audio, and I *think* that this is the correct driver for it.
