Dell Inspiron 6000-Volume Display and brightness display not showing. Can you minister to?

I perceive there is an uncomplicated solution that I am missing. It just adjectives of a sudden stopped showing the volume levels and brightness display when I lower or elevate them. I hope I am explaining this as clearly as I think I am. lol

Any thoughts on how to catch them to display again? I have search under the control panel and found nought. I have also tried shutting down and restarting my laptop.

You are missing the "quickset" application.
Explore your local thorny drive for the Dell folder.
If present, look in the "$oem" folder for "Quickset"

If missing or you can't locate the "$oem" folder

Visit http://www.dell.com
Click the "Drivers and Downloads" link
Enter your notebook model number
Download the "QuickSet" application.

Install it and restart your computer.
