LCD Remaining on when lid shut?

I own a Dell e1505 and when i shut the lid the lcd stays on, how can i change it to shut sour (not standby, hibernate).

Answer:
Go into your Control Panel and Choose your Power options. You will know how to disable Hibernate there.
There are two option either press and hold the major power button until it shut downs (it does not harm the computer, it is an alternative), or purely start and Shut Down on the desktop. But when you shut the lid, the LCD remains on you said. Well, it could be that the small switch that enables hibernation once the LCD is shut could be worn out. It is doing the opposite of what it is supposed to do.
