Check beside your computer manufacturer to be sure your hardware is adjectives Vista compatible.
If it says windiws cabable on one of the stickers on your laptop if its a desktop I dont know I would bid your manfaucter. Dont let relatives tell you vista is unpromising its great I just get it. No problems at all. I hope this help!

With a valid license, you can technically do it. To be more specific, however, Microsoft has a downloadable program call "Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor", which will tell you if your computer will run Vista, and run it smoothly. It will also endow with you advice on hardware upgrades if they are required for the upgrade. Here is the relation:

Vista does hold issues. And vista does need a sort of powerful computer 2gb of ram, and a video card specifically directx9 compatible.
