I havent get this exact model but from the specifications you give me, 400 pounds seem a very acceptable price. The dual core processor probably probably tips the balance. As you own not mentioned the graphics card I assume it is any shared graphics or onboard (intel etc). If this is the case and you plan to play games, study DVDs and use graphics-intensive programs then I suggest you find another laptop. Try to stick next to dual-core processors though as they really are much better than single cores - 1.6ghz core is probably about equal to a 3.2GHZ p4 so pretty powerful. Having 2 logically means you can run two things at once near no slowdown etc.

I urge you to have a look at Dell computers as around the 400 pounds easy target, in the mart they could probably beat that specification, plus you can tailer it to exactly what you want.

And most laptops currently have a 1 year warranty. The first entity to normally break on a laptop is the CD/DVD drive so a great track to extend the life of your laptop is not to use that too aggressively.
