Solo core how good/bad is it?
please advise. the laptop will be in the main used for web nouns and some games.
thank you for your help.
Answer:
Hi,
My proposal is: buy a dual core (Core 2 Duo) only and just if your web-development software uses it. Otherwise, its just worthless money. Almost all programs today work on a single core (except for specially created programs that whip advantage of the second core), so it won't engender that much of a difference if you buy a dual core and the program you're using is made for a single core processor (e.g. uses only one core).
Other than that, Core 2 Duo is as sparkle efficient, as powerful and as silent as the single core one. ;)
Hope I could abet,
Regards,
TK
Intel has found a cheap channel of providing a single core duo chip. What actually happen at the factory if a core 2 duo fails to run both cores, it is tested to see if at lowest possible one core is operating, if so, it is sold as a core solo..It is literally a core 2 duo that only have one core operating..
The core solo is fine to use for your laptop, it uses very little power.
If you want more power, progress for the core 2 duo..2 times the processor!
gime a sec, ill look up that relationship for you to check out.

Update: Nice screen mark.very productive.lol
It's not always the best view for a dual core processor on a laptop. Unless your laptop is going to be your primary computer, use Core Solo. They save more punch than dual cores, and run cooler and perhaps even smaller amount noisier (the fan). Dual core processors only run next to both cores if you are running a sort of 64 bit, or dual core optimized software.
solo core is history...Also go for the hottest processor when u buy a new system
