My BIOS doesn't recognise my usb?

I want to reinstall my XP,but I'm beside laptop and its original cd is something similar to dead,so i use an USB connected CD/DVD .THe problem is that bios can't nouns windows from in attendance.What should i do?(My laptop is gericom and there is unquestionably no support in the site)

your should try a system restore before installing Xp hitting f8 on startup take afew pratices to get this to work but f8 should draw from you to a recovery blind


or do an xp repair

You can't boot from a USB Drive, sorry. You need to use a drive that's connected near a 'proper' connector.
