Laptop problem?

My Laptop be pre installed with window 98. Somehow all of the files get messed up and when I turn it on it says something roughly locating the windows command inturpreter. My laptop is an dated thinkpad. I have a window 95 disk I can install but it wont do anything unless I get it to bypass this message. WHAT DO I DO?

Answer:
I've have this "files messed up" problem about 5 years ago, beside one of the Fujitsu drive. The problem was the the harddrive be having the problem (actually the intact line of this model), so after a while the brand modern hdd would start just making gibberish out of the files (change their name, size etc. I've had files on my computer over 140gb after the drive be messed up. And the drive was just 30gb :) )
Although I kept that drive as a slave only, so I haven't have troubles with Windows. My suggestion would be that your drive arranged it was time to retire, and it have nothing to do next to windows. You can try to reinstall it though but expect it to crash again.
To reinstall window, there isn't much you can do unless you hold a startup floppy disk, which should be created in mortgage before something desperate happens. So, any now dance to some friend to create a startup disk or do the following. The problem is too big to describe it here, so you should do some research online. Here's something to get you started:
