Which variety of laptop should i buy,please suggest?
i am goin to buy the laptop, but couldnot desire which one is better and more suitable to me!

sony and asus-1 is the same price and asus-2 is cheaper than these latter.

It essentially depends on what you really need.
For HDD, you may want the 120GB if you want a lot of storage, similar to downloaded music, movies, pictures. If you only involve your laptop for school documents, and browsing the web, 80GB may be enough. Anyway, try to know how much space you are using right in a minute on your PC (if you have one) and consider how long it took you to get together that much data. This will make available you an idea how much space you will be need in the subsequent few years.
For processor, Core 2 is what they replaced Pentium with. I guess it's better to travel for Core 2 than Core. But again, if you'll use it only for academy documents, movie viewing, listening to music, browsing etc, you can settle for Core, as it is much cheaper.
For counterweight, consider: will you be bringing the laptop around much? It pays to get a street light one.
So, between Sony and Asus1. Get Asus1.
And if Asus1 is way more expensive than Asus2, attain Asus2.
PS. Re RAM and HDD. It's good to capture a bigger RAM. For HDD, depends on whether you need deeply of storage or not.

Hard drive depends on how much you will store on it (music/pictures). 80GB is ok for must users.
Get the one that have the RAM and HD capacity to nouns and run the scientific software you will be need. All other things being equal, more is better.
