I enjoy a dell inspiron 2200, only cost resembling 300$ (Estimate) but I did get a big discount for already have a laptop from dell, it only come with 200 RAM (estimate) so I go ahead and bought a gig for myself, surrounded by all it cost around 400$, its not the fastest and doesn't hold the most memory but it does what I need from it. Which is gaming and college things. Its a miracle Laptop it can do a lot of things not a soul expected from it, Downloaded Vista and it runs smooth as any PC.

I hold a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092. I like that it have 1GB of memory, and that it has most of the ports that I involve. The only item I don't like is that it doesn't enjoy PS/2 ports, or a DV port, and it doesn't have bluetooth, but those entity are not important to own. It costed me about $2,500, and it's for home use. I get it from Best Buy's Geek Squad. It has Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002 SP2, Intel Centrino Mobile Technology, 3 USB ports, 1 Firewire IEEE-1394 port, 1 Ethernet port (RJ45), 1 Phone Line port (RJ11), one DC port for my AC Adapter, 1 VGA port, 1 S-Video port, 1 financial guarantee port, 1 3-in-1 card reader (SD, xD, and M memory card slot), 1 American Express Card Slot, and one memory card slot. It has a 17" monitor beside Media Center buttons, also a CD/DVD drive, and a keypad on the keyboard, which is unbelievably convenient. It also has a 60-day trial of Microsoft Office 2003, which includes Microsoft Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Excel. I close to that it also has wireless internet. The graphics are great. I own Windows Media Player 10, Internet Explorer 6, and Outlook Express 6. I love the quality of Toshiba notebook, and I would highly recommend them.
Compaq presario V2000. Got it at a Xmas wrangle price of $450. Love the screen and the wispy colored keyboard, aversion black. Got a little wear on the keypad.
dell inspiron e1505...what a great piece of machinery. I hold had NO problems next to it. Came pre-installed with Vista premium, plenty of tricky drive space, highly customizable, core 2 duo processor, i am pleased near it. payed around $1000 for it but thats because i added a lot of things. Base price is 600 USD i focus. I use it for school, unconcerned gaming, and music/video.
