hello..
when it comes to external cd or dvd writer
good looking and pious performance is offered lone from
"OMEGA" or "iOMEGA" whatever you give the name them..
But on the overall... SONY is clear market troublemaker
Liteon Offers LIGHTSCRIBER tech. which could be used to
burn CD/dvd -- label printing inside itself .. the cd/dvd have to be put opposite within unusual way to do that...
cheaper : liteon ,
SONY - Always standard and widely preferred
if you enjoy USB 2.0, go ahead. I reccommend getting a TEAC.
Of course you can connect through USB port, and roughly the best DVD driver it depends on your choice there is lots of DVD drives available contained by the market, Currently i am using the LG and i ddin't found any problem all the same in my drive.
Via USB or Firewire.
However I would recommend u to dawdle as BluRay technology is on the way offering dimensions to store upto 50GB in a single disc.
Another disadvantage would be the external drives are usually bulky near a separate power supply needed for them & not being smoothly portable.
Instead go for an internal DVD writer. Remove yr existing CDRom & replace next to a DVD writer. Toshiba service provider would do it in a jiffy.
