What kindly of brand would you pick for a laptop?

Give anything.

Answer:
I own a Toshiba Satellite A105 series laptop and love it.. i upgraded it to 1gb of ram from it's unproved 512, and it does what I need it to do..
It's insubstantial, thin, get a good peak, has wireless as all right as ethernet, and modem, and has 4 usb ports... also an extra slot, don't ask me what it's call, for cards, ie wireless cards, and other things..
I added a card reader through a usb port, and to me, it's complete.
I picked a Dell. So far so good.
Toshiba
I would pick Dell because they enjoy a helpline.
HP is good too...
I would run with any Dell or HP.
I've got a compaq and I haven't have a problem w/ it. I say stay away from dell at adjectives costs. Sure they do make a honourable laptop but when u do run into a problem their tech support is horrible. Trust me I'm a computer tech for a living and you wouldn't believe the trouble I go through doing warrenty work for family who have dell computers. So try Compaq or Gateway. I've have success w/ both.
hp is the best
For times past four years Toshiba has be rated as one of the best laptops contained by Consumer magazine for price and performance... I've intuitively used them for over 8 years and I'm a high-end UI Designer and Creative Writer.
I would get an HP/Compaq. I own a HP laptop and a Compaq desktop. I have have the laptop for over 4 years, and it has be very well-mannered. I have not have any real issues, I did hold to replace my power cord, but I just get one at Circuit city and it was fine.

My desktop, which is a year ripened, is also very right. I also have an HP printer and HP digital camera. All own worked wonderfully. I have also hear they have upright customer service, but I have not required to use it!

We also have a really "old" (over 5 years) HP desktop, and it have not had any problems. (Other than it is very soon outdated and "slow" compared to today's machines.)
Mac book pro, it's light, battery-operated lasts for hours, sizeable memory, great design, built in webcam, amazing pre-installed apps, warranty wins hand down over windows, but it may be a bit knotty to master if your so used to a pc, however...you can run window on a mac by bringing it up on a seporate window, (two operating systems at a time) win win I supose
