Can you remove a disc from its drive if the computer is not on?

I hold a CD stuck contained by my drive, but I can't turn my notebook on to get it out. I only just got a up to date notebook, so I have virtually no necessitate for the computer other than the compact disc that is stuck inside.

Answer:
Yes, this is rather simple. Take a paper-clip or a simmilar thin metal strip. Bend it so that it have about a 1" strait portion on the conclude. There should be a very small hole on your disc drive. Insert the paper-clip into that hole and depress gently until the drive releases and open. You can slide it back contained by after you are done so that you don't break the drive off.

Since the notebook cannot turn on, I would suggest that you any donate it to a charity organization or attempt to provide it for parts on eBay.

Good luck with getting your disk out!
Find a small pin, or hypodermic and there should be for a moment hole on the front of your cd drive somewhere, push the pin in near and then it should accessible.
Good luck
There is a pinhole on the front panel of your cd drive, insert a long needle contained by it and push, the drive will open up.
You can not take it out if it is not on because it needs life to open it.
Small pin hole at the front of the Drive.
Push a straightened daily clip into the hole.
well beside a desktop computer you can but you have a labtop and they don't embark on just by sticking something surrounded by the hole and it pops open. they don't own that. you could always force the computers disk drive expand with a tool or something. also if you said why you cant turn it on we might of be able to describe you a better way of getting your drive friendly

hope this answers your question
You can do that by detaching the disc drive from the computer & opening(means that unscrew & open the top) the disc drive. If otherewise you cannot remove it i think
You may know how to.

If the drive has a small hole (about 1 mm, 1/20th inch) surrounded by the front you can use a straightened paperclip pushed down it to release the drive lock and open the tray. Goes surrounded by somewhere from 1/4" to 1" (1/2cm - 2cm) until it meets a surface that give a bit when you push gently.

Works for desktops and some laptops. For sure my Compaq have a hole in its disc tray cover and for sure it opens the tray.

If theres no hole? Is it a fixed drive? Can you cart the drive out and put it in another computer?

If the computer is unconscious and scrap, you can other use a set of screwdrivers & pliers and dismantle the laptop to get at the drive... and the drive itself to acquire at the CD.
