Hey mate. There are 2 batterys for the inspiron 1501. The 6 cell get u about 3 hours, and within is a 9 cell which i got which give me about 4 hours gaming and around 6-7 hours freshly messing about surrounded by windows, and no the first charge doesnt net any difference, lithium ion has no memory effect, hope this help
