A Question for adjectives you Computer Nerds out in attendance!?

* 20 GB ATA strong drive
* Mac OS X
All of this for only $289.99.
The problem is that I reallly don't know much something like Macs.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Is this limited surrounded by anyway? I am not going to be doing any media editing... mostly university work, browsing, and adding music to my iPod.

It's weak, but the nice thing roughly speaking Macs is that it will still work. It won't be a powerhouse for media or anything, but it will work fine. I own a Mac from 1998 and I still use it every day. I'm still running Mac OS 8.51... there's some things I can't do, but most of those things are not things I really inevitability to do, and I have some investigational Windows machines sitting around for that stuff.
@You ask I answer - You don't know what you're talking more or less. That hasn't been the defence since 1989. Unless you're a hard-core gamer.
And you can upgrade the OS on that machine - but it doesn't inevitability it. Where do people receive all these wrong thinking about Macs? Windows salesmen?
The processor is extremely slow, thats style over priced.

Dont get an Apple. You cant obtain software for it. Parts are expensive. They are slow... and you dont know much about them.
thats a pretty antiquated machine. i guess the price is alright (not really), you'll know how to do all you want beside it, but don't expect a cheetah, its more like a kitten.
It is an ok settlement, but overall the computer isn't all that. It also doesn't seem to be good for your requirements. At least possible a 1.6 GHz should be required.
i said it was fixed because u cant upgrade the OS on it, but if ur only using for that, it will be ok, it will be for a moment slow though.
That's not going to get you far... spend another $300 and carry something half fully clad.
20 gigs in zilch these days... most programs are 4+ gigs a piece...
A outstandingly slow processor too... you will get frustrated beside it.
I would sasy not worth it, but if you do buy it, try to get the price down to at lowest $200
If you don't know anything about Macs later don't buy one. The choice of software for a Mac is limited.
In appendage to the slow processor, the hard drive is relatively small. Most PCs come near an 80gb, 160gb or 320gb hard drive today.

Don't buy it. It's too slow and Apple computers aren't virtuous!
I would not bother with it unless you reelly want it. You can buy a brand fresh PC for about 450 to 500 and a really nice one for roughly 700.
Make life easier. Stay away from that outmoded machine to be precise alien to you.
