try sending it though your home network. if that doesn't work try using removable storage e.g. flash memory cards, memory sticks, etc...
burn adjectives your pictures onto a cd or dvd and then download them to your other laptop. if you newly have a couple than i would email them.
a moment ago hook the usb transfer cable to both workstation and open report and setting transfer wizards from ur adjectives programm > accessories and system tools

If they both hold an ethernet port, you can use a crossover CAT5 cable to connect the computers. On teh PC where the pictures are stored, turn on directory sharing for the folder they are in. Or you could draw from a USB flash drive, put them on there from PC1 and next plug the drive into PC2 and grab them that path. Or you could burn them to CD. By burning them to disc, you also have the plus of archiving them in shield either one of the PCs crash.
i ruminate pen drive is best for multiple. if u only hold a few to send later simple www.yousendit.com to yourself would get them at hand instantly. Emailing a whole folder works fine if you fastener it up first then put in it as attachment to email.

Do some Googling on null modem cables. Basically you will be joining the two computers lacking a hub. They can then have a chat to each other and switch information. Other option include bluetooth and IR if both laptops support that feature. Also look into transferring next to a USB memory stick, they are very cheap today.
copy your pics to a memory stick then install on other laptop
Easy burn them to a disk afterwards copy them stright to any other computer no need for cable why didn't you think of this method it's cheaper than buying the cable and easier....
