If you own $400 to spend, then simply salvage $300 more to make it $700, and next visit Dell website and purchase a brand alien, heavy duty and recitation laptop that comes with the most recent Operating system called " Vista" If you are at $400, you are not far away from $700, and hey, you would carry a laptop that no one have ever used, no scratches, etc... Plus, you'll catch a full year warranty to ensure that you get subsidise your money if laptop found defective.

I muse Dell is a good wrangle. I was never really a big Dell admirer, but I've had mine for a bit while now and it works suitable....affordable and capable.
