Turning my laptop (busted LCD) into desktop...?
This is what I was thinking, buying an LCD monitor and attaching it to the laptop (supports this) via the dual monitor cable attachment, after removing the LCD attached to the laptop.
Will this work?
Answer:
Yes this will work just fine. Good Luck HTH.
yes it will, ive done indistinguishable thing =)
a short time ago make sure that within the display properties you clone the desktop to monitor 2
defiantly...you should hold no problems...
Sure!
(short answer!)
as long as everything else is fine with the laptop, it should work fine. you may merely lose some functionality that comes with closing the lid (auto-hybernate).
while youre at it, you might as resourcefully use an external keyboard/mouse so that you can stash your laptop ("tower") somewhere else.
yep, that'll work
Most definitely it will work. The video chip on the motherboard will detect the external LCD and automatically switch to the strange device.
While you are at it, I would suggest getting yourself another mouse and keyboard, and that laptop will be freshly like a really small desktop. Also you can hold the laptop screen closed and out of the instrument.
I set up my old laptop approaching this (screen still worlking) after getting a new laptop and set it up as a medium storage server, so to speak.
