I bought an ibook within mid-April of this year. It is the white, basic model almost $1200. First, what exactly is the model name? I've see G4, G3 etc but I don't think it's call that. Is it just call 'white ibook'? And more importantly, my puppy chewed through my power cord this morning so how can I get Apple to contribute me a new one for free while it is still below warranty? Are there any alternatives for power supplies or does Apple formulate the only brand of power cords that are compatible next to this laptop? They sell them for $70 on their website!

It will work fine near your iBook.
If you have a MacBook, there's a HUGE difference. Completely different plug arrangement, and I'm not sure the ratings are indistinguishable.
